Silverton’s roots as a Las Vegas area casino dates back to 1989, when Ed Roski’s company, Majestic Realty Co. purchased a plot of land along Interstate 15. In 1993, Roski partnered with Boomtown Inc. to build a $70 million property. The construction was complete in 1994, and thus Boomtown Las Vegas was open for business on May 27, 1994.
In 1997, Hollywood Park Inc. completed a deal to acquire the property’s operating company in exchange for $8.5 million in promissory notes and $2.1 million in cash and Hollywood Park-Boomtown was born. But the name was short-lived when Roski decided to rename the property in December of 1997 to Silverton.
Along with the name change, the casino cut staff and shifted it’s interior aesthetic to mirror that of a hunting lodge. Inside the lobby of the casino is a Bass Pro Shop and a large 117,000-gallon saltwater aquarium. Overall, the property really embodies the water and lodge motif.
After multiple nine-figure renovations in 2004 and 2009, Silverton stills stands today off I-15 north of both South Point and The M Resort Spa Casino, making it the last casino you see before you enter the Las Vegas strip.
This 300-room hotel mostly caters to California residents and locals as it is off the strip and the patrons are less concerned about being directly near Las Vegas’ main attractions. There are two different buildings for The Berkley, Las Vegas portion of the hotel and main casino, with the casino floor being plenty large. Parking is free at Silverton either in the garage or on the surface lot. You can also take advantage of complimentary valet parking at Silverton. We have never had any issues finding parking during our visits to Silverton.

Limits started at a penny and go up to $1 with $0.10, $0.25, and $0.50 in between. A few of the more popular games are available such Buffalo and variations of Buffalo and Wheel of Fortune, as well as, branded favorites including Willy Wonka and The Goonies.
High Limit Slots at Silverton
The high limit slots room at Silverton is very small and can almost go unnoticed if it wasn’t for a sign indicating its location. It is mostly video poker and the games do not go over $5 and $10 denominations for the most part.
In general, the game selection is not very modern. The only noteworthy high limit machine is Wheel of Fortune, which can only be played up to the $5 denomination.

Sportsbook at Silverton
Run by CG Technology, the Silverton sportsbook is a very viable location to watch and bet on sports. The sportsbook area is just about 2,000 square feet located on the main casino floor. They offer lines on all major sports such as basketball, football, golf, baseball, soccer, and more.
You will instantly notice the large HD TV, which is 7.5 x 53 feet wide, and it is capable of simulcasting multiple sporting events simultaneously. Two additional screens are solely dedicated to displaying current betting odds, and there are 38 carrels that offer the option to watch games and place bets.
One thing we liked about the sportsbook is that is very open. There are several slot games located directly behind the carrels so you can play slots while keeping tabs on live sports. The one downside of the sportsbook being so open is that it is small and there is not anything fancy or special about it. It would be a good place to watch a game if you are tired of looking for seats with a good view of the betting board and TV screens at other sportsbooks. But don’t expect much else such as billiards or a bar and/or restaurant.

As stated previously the hotel at Silverton has 300 rooms, which is small by Vegas standards. However, that does not mean the rooms are no good. Silverton offers Resort Rooms, Luxury King Rooms, Luxury Suites, and room packages.
Silverton Las Vegas Rewards
The price for the Resort Room is very affordable and we feel is a great deal if you are not concerned with staying on the strip. Resort Rooms typically range between $70 and $190 per night, depending on the time of year.
Luxury Rooms range between $125 and $225 per night, but still, we feel as though this is a pretty good deal as the Luxury Rooms include a Starbucks in-room coffee maker, WiFi (resort fee applied), and other small touches that make you feel at home during your stay such as bathrobes.
Silverton’s Luxury Suites are also reasonably priced as they typically range between $195 and $395+ per night. When comparing Silverton’s resort fee with other hotels it is considered low, only $16.99 + tax per night. The resort fee gives you access to WiFi, free parking, fitness center access, and more. Check-in time is 3pm and check-out time is 12pm for all of Silverton’s rooms.
Silverton also has an 18-story building directly next to the Silverton Hotel Casino building called, The Berkley, Las Vegas. The Berkley sets out to model a resort, as the rooms provide a dining area, kitchen, living room, and outdoor BBQ area. It is best to check with the hotel for the most current rates as they fluctuate between $295 and $600+ per night depending on availability and the time of the year.
Located in the surface parking lot of the hotel and casino are community fire pits with seating, which seem to be open to the public but often times are not too crowded. We thought this was an added bonus of the property if you need a break from being indoors all day.
